accessibility

I don't have any neurological conditions. Although I remember being on a date and a guy trying to diagnose me with the autism because I didn't want to look at him in the eyes.

My vision is very bad though.

A close-up photograph of an eye prescription document dated 07/12/2024. The prescription table shows the following values: OD (Right Eye): Sphere -6.00, Cyl -1.25, Axis 015.OS (Left Eye): Sphere -7.75, Cyl -0.50, Axis 160.

In 2021, it was a bit better than his, it changed by -.25 in both eyes.

There's no reason for my sight to be this bad; my family members have much better vision, although we all wear glasses.

This is why I put the Easy Reading Mode on my sight. I have a hard time reading the text, but it's so pretty so I keep it neon. High contrast makes it accessible to...myself. Even with glasses there is a slight shadow from a distance.

I don't believe that every blog has to have a high contrast mode. People like me have settings and plugins that help. Just make sure your content can be read with a screen reader (most can). Also a "skip to content" link. I'll be adding one later this week once I actually understand how to. I'm also trying to add alt text since I use a ton of pictures that give context.

I have what is considered high-myopia (near-sightedness). It shouldn't get any worse as i get into my mid-20's but if it does, I'll just make the font bigger LMAO.

If you see my blog have giant bold letters, check in on me. The screen reader voice is too robotic fa me, I refuse to use it.
