black hair
This year I loc'd my hair.
this means I started my own set of dreadlocs.
you ever see a Black person's hair and wonder how much time it takes to do it? I measured it — it takes 1 minute per inch of hair for a basic twist/braid style.
it took me 3 days to do my whole head.

I finished the entirety of Attack on Titan plus a Korean drama. I took a ton of breaks.
I have 4C hair, the curliest/coiliest type of hair a human can have. My hair naturally spirals like the spring in a click pen. I used to hate it, but I've grown to like it.
It's been a month. They've grown a bit. I might be washing it too often.
The worst part is that hair research on my hair type started in the era of fad health trends. There is still so much misinformation about my hair type. Some people still think that my hair gets greasy or oily when not washed. It just gets dry, not smelly, not oily.
Anyways, I have to re-tighten the roots. That will take maybe 2 days?, so I'll do it next Friday.

Fully matured locs take a year or two to look like traditional dreadlokcs. Luckily, my hair type is the best for this style. white people can have deadlocks but they have to put a tom more effort and abuse into it. I can just leave my hair alone and it will turn into locs. The only problem is having to wait.
I guess this year im learning how to be patient.
