being allergic to air
I've spoken on my food allergies before, somewhat lightheartedly. However that was not the full extent of my allergies. I also have pollen allergies.
It could be the specific trees in the Great Lakes area; I don't remember having bad allergies while in Korea. Nevertheless, I am fully allergy-drugged out of my mind during spring.
Last night, I couldn't sleep. I usually breathe through my nose when sleeping, to prevent drooling. But of course the residual pollen in the air of my house or on my clothes has penetrated my safe space (my bedroom) and has affected my ability to breathe through my nose.
I fell asleep around 1am. woke up at 6am, as if I'm a blue collar/medical worker. Not sure why my body won't let me sleep past 6am.
I woke up with wet eyes, another symptom of pollen allergies. It's 6am and I'm already crying.
I'm too lazy to shower (which i'm sure would help) so I wash my face, but I still can't breathe through my nose. I began sneezing AFTER washing the pollen out of my nostrils.
I learned from The Bee Movie that pollen is sticky. If you live near a bunch of pollenating plants, then you're coated in it.
I live in the suburbia you see in r/suburbanhell, so there aren't many trees near my home. But there are many, many trees everywhere else. The wind carries the pollen, and I like to drive with the window down. Yesterday it was sunny and warm. Putting that all together, we can see how this happened.
I took some generic Allergy Relief medication this morning. It has cleared my nose, but I'm still sneezing. Not looking forward to breathing spring air for the next couple months.
