I love Asian languages, I like listening to Slavic languages. Bantu languages are my heritage (on a technical level). And German is the one language my body and brain cannot learn.
I am not a polyglot, using the REAL technical definition, not Tiktoks definition. But I know how to fake being a polyglot.
Jun 2017: Began Japanese (self-study)
Aug 2017: Switched to Mandarin (HS)
Aug 2021: Studied Japanese + Mandarin (college)
Aug 2022: Dropped Mandarin
Jun 2023: Started Korean (college)
Feb 2024: Studied Korean in Korea (paused Japanese)
Jul 2024: Returned to US; resumed Japanese (+ brief German)
Dec 2024: Graduated with Linguistics degree
Jan 2025: Stopped language study
Jul 2025: Resumed Mandarin (a bit) while working.
